Amy Elizabeth Lohrmann
Amy Lohrmann has been doing art for most of her life. Her mother, artist Anne Shaver, always made sure there were crayons, paint and play-doh available. She went on to study art and education at Spring Arbor University and W.M.U. as well as in many workshops and private classes.
As a teacher Amy teaches her students classical elements and principles along with creativity so that they can understand about the lines and learn to promptly color outside of them. Amy has worked with hundreds of students over the past 35 years. Now working with high school and adult students, offering both private classes as well as two hour “crash courses” in drawing, color, painting and art appreciation for groups.
Amy works mostly with acrylic on canvas. In her work Amy likes to help people see things in a new and more contemplative way. Just a little on the outside of ordinary. She has been featured in many private and group shows as well as juried competitions.
